Follow on Google News | Selective Service System Appoints New State of California Board MemberFormer Santa Clara Police Officer has been appointed to the Selective Service System - State of California Local Board.
Mr. Haverty is currently serving as the Director of Investigations for Strategic Investigative Services, located in Fresno, CA. He previously served the residents of California as a twenty year veteran of law enforcement service. During his law enforcement career he was involved with counter-terrorism intelligence and homeland security activities as a terrorism liaison officer. He is currently a private-sector partner with the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center, the California Resiliency Alliance, and FBI InfraGard. Mr. Haverty is certified to conduct DHS/FEMA level threat and risk assessments related to chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, explosive, and natural disaster events. Mr. Haverty has been recognized for his dedication and service by the California State Senate, the U.S. Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Investigation, and various civic organizations. "I am very humbled to have been appointed as a State of California local board member for the Selective Service System," says Mr. Haverty. "I am committed to contributing my efforts as a board member. I see this as a way of showing my patriotism and respect for those who give so much for their country," adds Mr. Haverty. The two-part mission of the Selective Service System is to provide manpower to the armed forces in an emergency, and to run an alternative service program for men classified as conscientious objectors during a military draft.
