By: Clean Design
Founded by Juliette Gordon Low in Savannah, Georgia in 1912, Girls Scouts is 2.8 million members strong with more than 100 local councils across the country. Today, Girl Scouts continue Low’s vision by helping girls discover their inner strengths, passions and talents. And with programs ranging for healthy living and life skills to natural sciences and engineering, there’s a chance for every girl to develop into the leader she can be.
“Girl Scouts are a tremendous community asset here in North Carolina as they continue to blaze trails for girls everywhere,”
“Natalie Perkins embodies our core values of teamwork, friendship and community,” says Lisa Jones, CEO of Girl Scouts-North Carolina Coastal Pines. “Her guidance and expertise will help to ensure that Girl Scouting remains a relevant opportunity for young women for years to come.”
A recent 2015 Leadership North Carolina graduate and former Women in Business award winner, Perkins has a long history of community involvement and is a strong champion of the performing arts and area philanthropic causes. Perkins also serves on boards for Leadership North Carolina, Duke Raleigh Hospital, the Holt Brothers Foundation and the Partnership Board of Wake Education.
Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines supports over 26,000 girls grades K-12 and nearly 10,000 adult members from North Carolina’s 41 central and eastern counties. The Council's administrative headquarters is located in Raleigh, with additional program and service centers located in Goldsboro, Fayetteville and Wilmington.
