Follow on Google News | Music Students to Perform in Disney-Themed Cruise Event, in Rochester NYStudents from the Rochester Academy of Music & Arts will take to the lake in a Disney-themed steamboat trip around the Lake Ontario shoreline
Rochester, Please Be Our Guest This is the Academy’s second annual Disney showcase. “Our prior showcase was held at a restaurant, and we were looking for a way to make this year’s event bigger and better,” explains Academy owner Brannon Hungness. The decision to hold the showcase on the Harbor Town Belle was based on Disney history. “I was reminded of Steamboat Willie, the short film that made Mickey Mouse a star. And immediately, it all came together” says Hungness. The event aims to celebrate Rochester by highlighting the city’s best local talent & natural beauty. “We chose Disney because it is a very universal theme,” says Hungness. Although there are students of all ages and backgrounds performing at the event, no one had trouble selecting a song from a favorite Disney property. But according to Hungness, more than anything, “the theme shows that Rochesterians love to have fun!” About the Rochester Academy of Music & Arts The Rochester Academy of Music and Arts, located at 161 Norris Drive, is Rochester’s largest family-owned and family-oriented music school.
