NEEDHAM, Mass. - Aug. 10, 2015 - PRLog -- The Knowledge Foundation is pleased to present its 11th Annual Lithium Battery Power conference, which will be held November 17-19, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Inner Harbor in Baltimore, MD.  Lithium Battery Power is made up of two distinct parts: Part one addresses one of the greatest challenges to creating higher-performing, lower-cost batteries: how to transfer emerging technologies from benchtop research to commercialized manufacturing. Part two focuses on chemistry and materials including novel chemistries, electrode/electrolyte materials, high-capacity cathodes/anodes, and system integration.

This event will feature three keynote presentations taking place on Tuesday, November 17 and Wednesday, November 18.  Tuesday’s keynote presentation will be given by Dr. Bob Powell, manager of the General Motors Global Research and Development Center’s Electrochemistry and Battery Systems Group, and will cover the current challenges and remaining potential of lithium-ion batteries in the automotive industry.

Wednesday’s keynotes will be given by Jeremy Carlson, a battery technology engineer at Lenovo, and Kenneth Gould, an e-mobility technical systems engineer at Porsche Cars North America.  Mr. Carlson’s presentation will focus on the battery requirements for different mobile computing devices and market segments and the challenges for batteries in future generations of these devices, while Mr. Gould’s presentation will discuss practical solutions for lowering the cost of batteries and future innovations that are most likely to accomplish this goal.

Lithium Battery Power, along with the Knowledge Foundation’s concurrent Battery Safety conference, will bring over 300 attendees together in one location for more than sixty presentations.
