By: Community Mortgage Lenders of America
WASHINGTON - Aug. 5, 2015 - PRLog -- Washington, D.C., August 5, 2015/PRNewswire – The Community Mortgage Lenders of America (CMLA) today announced Chair Paulina S. McGrath was selected as one of HousingWire's 2015 Women of Influence.

McGrath was a founding member of the CMLA in 2009 and is President of Republic State Mortgage Co., based in Houston, Texas and a Board Member of the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association. As CMLA Chair, McGrath led the Association to achieve a number of its strategic goals, positively affecting community based lenders’ ability to provide affordable mortgages and improve business profitability and operational efficiencies.

McGrath has been instrumental in growing Republic State Mortgage Co. Most recently, Republic State Mortgage Co. acquired Union Trust Mortgage Corporation of Peabody, MA in a strategic move to continue its expansion regionally to serve a growing customer base. Republic now has 23 locations and lends in 11 states.

Commenting on HousingWire’s recognition of her leadership, McGrath said she was “honored to be in the company of such remarkable women. Of course, women have been an integral part of the mortgage industry forever, but it's rewarding to see women recognized for their leadership in the industry and I commend HousingWire. There are many strong female leaders and even more being groomed to become successful leaders in the future."

In addition to her work for her company and her industry, Paulina is also active within her community as Vice President (President-elect) of the Board of Trustees of The Women's Fund, a non-profit organization that provides Houston area women and girls with the tools they need to be advocates for their health.

About the CMLA

CMLA is the only trade association solely dedicated to advocating for independent, community-based residential mortgage lenders. The CMLA works to ensure the interests of its members are effectively represented before members of Congress, Federal regulators and the Executive branch.
