Seeks to help buyers to improve effectiveness and save taxpayer money

WESTON, Fla. - Aug. 3, 2015 - PRLog -- Personius & Company, Inc. today introduced a new 1-day training program to help government buyers of promotional (logo) products, apparel, awards, and signs/displays better understand the industry, artwork requirements, decoration processes, available product research/selection tools, catalog and sample requests, and more. In addition, Personius focuses on writing clear, accurate RFQs with complete identifying information and decorating requirements.

Personius offers this 1-day course in South Florida at the Weston Hills Country Club in Weston, Florida and at buyer locations across the USA when a local government agency hosts.

“Over the past several years, we have noticed a growing trend of nonsensical quote requests, incomplete requests, inaccurate artwork/decoration requirements, and incoherent work descriptions from government purchasing groups,” said Jim Personius, the course developer and instructor. “This was resulting in multiple rebids, higher risk-adjusted quotes, and more no-bid responses. Clearly, government buyers would benefit from learning how the promotional products industry works, who does what roles, and how to identify, evaluate, decorate, and properly request product/apparel quotes that vendors can work with. We decided to help these buyers by developing our own training program – open to clients and non-clients – because we believe more knowledgeable buyers get better results every time. And, everybody benefits when bids are done right – the buying agency gets lower prices, accurate products and satisfied business users; vendors feel more comfortable bidding on requests; and taxpayers save money.”

“Our first two course conducts were very successful and had great feedback,” Personius said. “Now we are ready to roll out the training to any interested government buyers either here in Weston, Florida or at your office location.”

“However, in researching, developing, and conducting this training, we discovered that we are best suited to the leading, top-down-managed purchasing groups. Executive leadership of these purchasing organizations attempt to track and manage costs, calculate savings, track vendor performance, track buyer performance, and focus on delivering real value to their agency. Unfortunately, many procurement groups have a huge tolerance for incompetence, focus solely on the details of process and procedure, and just assume the outcome is the low-cost solution. These groups are leaving tons of potential savings on the table and typically not interested in learning more,” Personius said. “Our training does not replace your vendors or change your purchasing policies; instead it is all about better buyer education and better results.”

“So our goal is to partner with the best and leading purchasing executives to help their buyers be more successful and provide significantly better service and prices to their business users. We think we have a winner here.”
