Amanda Bauer and Jack DePew to star alongside Janeane Garofalo and Melissa McBride in THE HAPPYS

LOS ANGELES - Aug. 1, 2015 - PRLog -- Amanda Bauer and Jack DePew will star in the indie feature THE HAPPYS, which started production this week.  They join previously announced supporting cast members, Emmy nominee Janeane Garofalo and Melissa McBride.

Amanda Bauer stars as Tracy, a sheltered young woman from the midwest who finds her world upturned when she catches her successful actor boyfriend in bed with a man.  Tracy must find her place in Los Angeles and discover where her true passions lie.

Bauer is best known for her role in IFC Films' THE MYTH OF THE AMERICAN SLEEPOVER which screened at the 2010 Cannes International Film Festival's International Critics Week and the SXSW Film Festival where it won a Special Jury Award for Ensemble Cast.  Bauer is repped by SDB Partners and Global Creative-Station 3.

Jack DePew has signed on to play Mark, a budding actor who is questioning his sexual identity. DePew is best known for his recurring role on the ABC FAMILY series, THE FOSTERS. DePew is represented by Abrams Artists and Principato Young.

Emmy nominee Janeane Garofalo plays Luann, a former child star who left the business, bought lots of property and has become the unofficial “mayor” of Los Feliz. Actress and comedian Garofalo's recent credits include Netflix’s upcoming original series Wet Hot American Summer and Bravo’s Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce. She is represented by Gersh Agency.

Melissa McBride plays Krista, Mark’s hard-charging talent manager. McBride is best known as fan favorite Carol Peletier on AMC’s The Walking Dead. She is represented by Mark Temple.

Cast includes Rhys Ward (The Returned), Arturo Del Puerto (The Bridge, Chicago PD), Cathy Ladman (HBO’s One Night Stand), Will Bethencourt (Jane the Virgin) and Stephen Guarino (Happy Endings).

The Happys will be helmed by first-time writers/directors Tom Gould and John Serpe, and producer Dave O’Brien (The Man Who Shook the Hand of Vicente Fernandez, Equality U).
