Illinois Libertarian State Convention 2015 - Speakers and Presentations

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - July 31, 2015 - PRLog -- The following is a complete and final list of speakers and presentations to be featured at this year's convention (http://www.lpillinois.org/convention) this Friday, July 31 & Saturday, August 1 at the Hilton Garden Inn, 3100 S. Dirksen Parkway, in Springfield, IL.

Speakers:

Claire Ball

Earlier this Spring, Ms. Ball attracted weeks of media attention on behalf of the Party as a standout candidate vying for a spot on the College of DuPage’s Board of Trustees. The COD was plagued with corruption and mismanagement allegations, which Claire starkly opposed with Libertarian responsibility and accountability. Additionally, Claire is on the brink of becoming a Certified Public Accountant, making her arguably the most qualified candidate for a poli-finance position in Illinois history.

Claire is expected to make an announcement this weekend at the convention, and the Libertarian Party of Illinois is still looking for a candidate for the special election for Comptroller in the coming 2016 General Elections.

William J. Kelly (http://www.chicagonow.com/kelly-truth-squad/)

Mr. Kelly is President of RevDigital, an Emmy award-winning TV production house which currently produces “The Sensationalist” on WPWR-TV in Chicago. He is also the editor of Newszillaonline.com. Kelly was once the statewide GOP candidate for Illinois comptroller. So what will a former Chicago Republican be doing at the Libertarian Party of Illinois’ State Convention? There’s only one way to find out.

Chris Michel (http://www.facebook.com/ChrisMichelforIllinois)

Another of our former statewide candidates, Mr. Michel won the favor of Illinois’ Libertarians with a common-sense, down-to-earth Libertarian approach in his 2014 bid for Illinois Secretary of State. An all-American family man and small business owner, Chris was first to announce his intention to win the Libertarian nomination for the 2016 US Senate race and is looking to gain some early support at this year’s convention.

Kimberly Ingoldsby

Kimberly first made a name for herself as an activist before learning about Libertarianism and recognizing parallels between it and her activism. In addition to her help founding the Party’s presence in Southern Illinois, she is a small business owner, and mother. Kimberly recently began seeking a new life direction after a personal tragedy, and believes that the US Congress should be the destination.

Scott Schluter (http://www.scottschluterforliberty.com)

Mr. Schluter currently serves as Political Director for the Libertarian Party of Illinois, as well as Chairman of the Southern Illinois Libertarian Party. On top of these duties he was the first Libertarian to launch a 2016 campaign, which is aimed at the 117th district of Illinois’ General Assembly. Scott is an Air Force veteran and staunch defender of the Constitution whose main priority is preserving America’s freedom for his 3 year-old daughter.

Christopher Hicks (http://www.facebook.com/christopherhicksfor95thdistrictIL)

A newly-announced candidate for the Illinois General Assembly district 95, Mr. Hicks has seen way too much political corruption in Springfield. Therefore, he’s hoping to do his part to turn the tide by winning an Illinois House seat in 2016.
