Follow on Google News | THE UNKINDEST CUT OF ALL: the Robotic ProstatectomyBy: UrologyWeb Said Dr. Bert Vorstman, “Not only has there been unbridled human experimentation with the radical prostatectomy for over 100 years but, the robotic prostatectomy was approved by the FDA without a single case of prostate cancer being tested in that trial. Even worse, this “approved” Dr. Vorstman added, “The dangers of the robotic prostatectomy are clearly underscored by the endless lawsuits filed against surgeons and the device manufacturer; Said Dr. Vorstman, ”Aside from urologists endorsing the debilitating robotic device and, whose safety and benefits for prostate cancer have never been determined scientifically, their promotion of its use for prostate “cancers” which behave as noncancerous, is scandalous. However, the character of urologists is tarnished even more now by their shameless flaunting of biases and conflicts in order to influence Government oversight agencies like the FDA and USPSTF. As bad as these unethical actions are, urologists have stooped even lower by maliciously torpedoing the innovative HIFU application as well as targeting the medical illiteracy of Senate Staff for a political pushback on the USPSTF and their “D” grading of the PSA backed prostate cancer screening initiative. A very selfserving urology screening initiative whose sole purpose is to promote prostate cancer fear mongering as well as facilitate the predation of vulnerable men by charlatans pushing robotics.” Dr. Vorstman warned, “The manner in which certain urologists protect their prostate cancer surgical franchise cash cow is, unfortunately, not through truth in medicine and patient advocacy but, through deception, medical bullying and hypocrisy. Sadly, the need to protect a surgical “truth” which only urologists can see, comes at great patient expense and the time for independently evaluated, scientifically conducted evidencebased studies of prostate cancer surgical treatments is long overdue.” To review Dr. Vorstman’s full report, please go to http://www.urologyweb.com/ End
