Asian Institute in alliance with Faridabad Orthopedic Association Organises Spine Update 2015

Spine Update 2015 was organised at Asian Institute of Medical Sciences, A Seminar having CME with the Presence of the renowned Spine and Orthopedic surgeons from across Country.

FARIDABAD, India - July 30, 2015 - PRLog -- Spine Update 2015 was organised at Asian Hospital, A daylong Seminar saw the Presence of the renowned Spine and Orthopedic surgeons from across Country. The Program was inaugurated by Dr. N.K. Pandey, Chairman, Asian Institute of Medical Sciences.

Prof. Arvind Jayaswal AIIMS, Dr. H.S. Chhabra, Chairman, Indian Spinal Injuries Centre, Dr. Mihir Bapat, Kokilaben Dheerubhai Ambani Hospital Mumbai, Dr. Rushama Tandon, Railway Hospital, Dr. Arvind Kulkarni Bombay Hospital, Dr. Amit Jhala Ahmedabad and Dr. Shankar Acharaya Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, were among the guest of Honour. The theme of the Program was Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery and Spine Deformity.

The Program Highlights included Management of Lumber Disc Prolapse - Recent Advances, Lumbar Discectomy, Endoscopic Technique, Lumbar Spine fixation, Scoliosis- Surgical Correction methods etc.

“Spine Conference is designed for surgeons with a special interest in the treatment of spinal disorders. The latest advance in the field was presented through lectures, open discussions, debates and case presentations”.

Dr. Yuvraj Kumar, Organising Chairman & Senior Orthopedic Spine Surgeon, Asian Institute of Medical Sciences said “Minimally invasive techniques have become standard for many procedures, from the removal of the gallbladder to angioplasty, but the approach is now available to patients with spinal conditions. Despite the availability of minimally invasive alternatives, 90 percent of common procedures like discectomy and lumbar fusion are still performed using traditional open surgery.”

Speaking about the Benefits Dr. Neeraj Gupta, Consultant Spine Surgeon , Asian Institute of Medical Sciences Said “Minimally invasive surgical outcomes are better as compared to those associated with open procedures. We will refine the techniques bring their benefits to more and more patients. With specialized training and technologies available at our Hospital, we can now offer patients these procedures with all the advantages of less-invasive surgery.”
