Service Tire Truck Centers Celebrates its 60th Anniversary

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - July 29, 2015 - PRLog -- Service Tire Truck Centers is celebrating its 60^th anniversary.  Founded in 1955 by Walt Dealtrey, Sr., STTC started as an independent Goodyear car tire dealer named “Bethlehem Tire & Battery”.  The company expanded into the commercial tire business in 1967 when Service Tire Truck Centers (STTC) was opened with a Bandag Retread Franchise in a 3,000 sqft warehouse where production was six tires per day. In 2006, STTC made the decision to change its three retreading franchises to Michelin Retread Technology. Over the past sixty years, Service Tire has grown to over 40 locations in eight states in the northeast employing over 800 employees. Today, STTC produces more than 1,200 retreads per day and ranks among the top independent tire dealers dedicated to serving the transportation industry.   STTC’s primary mission of providing excellent service and products has not changed in 60 years.

With the passing of founder Walter Dealtrey, Sr. in 2002, STTC is still a family-owned business, and is now led and owned by Walter Dealtrey, Jr., Ronald Bennett, Scott Bennett, and Ed Betz, who has recently retired.  According to Walt Dealtrey, Jr., “We are celebrating 60 years of service to the transportation industry and beyond.  I’m proud of our team and the commitment they make every day to serving our customers which in turn makes STTC better and stronger for the future.  Over the past 30 years we have methodically grown from 2 branches to 43 as opportunities or customers’ needs have arose.”
