Los Angeles Performers Join Together to Shatter the World Record for the Longest Improv Show

LOS ANGELES - July 28, 2015 - PRLog -- The 13th Annual Improv Comedy Festival at iO West  announced today that a group of comedians will perform one continuous improvised show for 150 hours, setting a new World Record as the Longest Improv Show.  Named the 7 Day Show by producers Keith Saltojanes and Rob O’Connor, the attempt will begin August 2, 2015 and run 24 hours per day through the end of the Festival on August 8.

Launched by a single suggestion selected off of Twitter (#7dayshow), each team will perform for 30 to 60 minutes, including a transition period with the next team, creating a seamless, continuous performance.  This ensemble of performers will represent the local improv community, including people and teams from iO West, UCB, Groundlings, Second City as well as improv groups from across the country and as far away as Australia.  Teams include well-known comedians such as FrankenMatt (Frank Caeiti of MadTV and Matt Craig of SNL), and Mo Collins (MadTV, Parks&Rec).

“Come witness history as we shatter the previous record of 70 hours!” offers producer Rob O’Connor.  “Nothing of this feat has ever been attempted before and we plan on setting an untouchable number.”

Keith Saltojanes, producer of 7 Day Show adds, “In addition to breaking this new record, our goals are also to expand awareness and explore the art-form of improvisational comedy and community of talented performers that exist here in Los Angeles.”  He continues, “We want to simultaneously push the limits of how much a person can create in their minds and live in imaginary circumstances via improvised scenes, while performing a show unlike any other even attempted.”

The audience is invited to “be part of history” by participating in an open jam from 3pm-4pm daily where anyone can get on stage and participate.

The full show will be streamed live on Periscope.  Tickets are available to view the show each hour daily from 7:30PM – 12:30AM for $5 in the Loft at iO West. Outside the Festival times, admission is Free.
