Follow on Google News | Revolutionary Device To Transform How Music Lovers Listen To Their Favourite SongsIn an effort to make this ground breaking device available to everyone on the planet, mBox’s founder has launched a worldwide crowdfunding campaign.
By: mBox “As a consumer I always hated buying my way into closed ecosystems. Multi-room music systems like Sonos always looked very appealing, but because they couldn’t work out of the box with my existing speakers they were very expensive options,” explained John Manitaras, the inventor of mBox. “I also didn’t like the idea of becoming locked in to a particular brand, so I thought to myself: ‘How hard could it be?’” Manitaras began developing the device 18 months ago, working very closely with artists, programmers and hardware specialists to create a unique product unlike anything presently on the market. “There are new multi-room music systems entering the market all the time, but all of them are designed to work with their own proprietary equipment,” Manitaras stated. “mBox is the only multi-room music system designed to work with the speakers you already own.” An mBox comes equipped with Wi-Fi and six Bluetooth modules, allowing anyone to connect up to six Bluetooth speakers at a time. Consumers can also connect an unlimited number of Airplay and DLNA devices. “If you have wired speakers in your home, we have you covered there, too, with an mBox mini. It works by forming a bridge between mBox and practically any other audio device,” Manitaras stated. “So the speakers on your television, your old Hi-Fi system—any device with speakers can become a part of your multi-room system.” To help with setup, mBox comes with an easy to download app that is as simple to use as changing the television channel on your remote control. mBox is currently only available through crowdfunding website Indiegogo. The device will retail for $250 but a limited quantity are available in exchange for a $149 pledge. “We’ve arrived at a point where we really need an injection of cash in order to move our product into mass production,” To pledge, donors can visit the company’s crowdfunding page on Indiegogo.com (https://www.indiegogo.com/ “Following the campaign we’ll be launching an online store through our website, mboxmultiroom.com,” Manitaras said. According to this first-time inventor, after mass production of mBox gets underway, his next goal is to get the device into popular retail stores.
