Follow on Google News | Fashion Catches the Disco FeverThe ‘70s Make a Comeback in 2015’s Ready To Wear Collections
By: Fashion One LLC The fashion world is going through a serious seventies revival. In the Paris Fashion Week Spring Summer 2015 shows, designers rocked their looks with “In The Band” inspirations. The industry’s very own rule breaker, Dries van Noten, paid homage to seventies rock ‘n’ roll with his metallic jacquard prints and patchwork-like patterns on baggy trousers, breezy chiffon tops and glamorous midi dresses that any glam rock star would be jealous of. Meanwhile, French fashion house Louis Vuitton showcased the decade’s rock culture with rock ‘n’ roll frocks, velvet trousers and mismatched leather skirts that even the decade’s most iconic artists would love to wear. In Milan and Tokyo, the runways took a page from “Saturday Night Fever” with a vibrant disco influence. The excessive glamour of the decade was visible in English designer Henry Holland’s collection with glittery eye makeup and psychedelic prints and the almost excessive use of colours, and metallic fabrics. Italian designer Emilio Pucci opted for a sexier, more refined take on seventies disco as the decade’s iconic party girl got a grown up makeover with fitted, deep V dresses and the disco pantsuit presented appearing in striking reds and salmons.
