July 24, 2015 - PRLog -- Research efforts to develop a durable dengue virus (DENV) vaccine against all serotypes have been ongoing for decades, though it remains challenging due to incomplete understanding of the relationship between DENV and the immune response (reviewed by Yauch and Shresta1 and Ramakrishnan et al.2). In this regard, Rivino et al.3, reporting in Science Translational Medicine, showed that dengue-specific T cells are directed to the skin following viral infection by expression of skin-homing cutaneous lymphocyte-associated antigen (CLA), where they may be crucial for immune surveillance against subsequent dengue infections. This study highlights the important protective role of skin-targeted T cells against DENV, with potentially vital ramifications for vaccine development.

GeneTex proudly offers an unparalleled, comprehensive catalog of outstanding antibodies to DENV proteins. Please see the products highlighted below, or click below to visit our website for a full listing of relevant antibodies.
