The Grand Strand has a long tradition of hardworking independence and the enthusiastic pursuit of leisure activities. From Civil War deserters to the excesses of the disco era, the area has a wicked streak running parallel to its beaches. Join author and historian Becky Billingsley as she uncovers the naughty side of the Grand Strand.

About the Author:

Reading old newspaper articles is a favorite pastime for journalist Becky Billingsley, and that interest resulted in history from many journalists’ perspectives in her first two History Press books, A Culinary History of Myrtle Beach and the Grand Strand and Lost Myrtle Beach. Now, in Wicked Myrtle Beach & the Grand Strand, even more fascinating vintage news sensations are collected in unvarnished versions. Becky and her husband, Matt, enjoy bird watching and visiting historic sites.
