Wilf Campus August Programs Will Invite Adults to Challenge and Strengthen Their Memories

SOMERSET, N.J. - July 24, 2015 - PRLog -- Sometimes those lazy, hazy days of summer can leave us a little hazy and forgetful ourselves, or maybe our memories could generally just use a little helpful sharpening. A fun and informative opportunity for enhancing one’s memory, “Fun with Memory Games,” has been planned by The Oscar and Ella Wilf Campus for Senior Living on Thursday, August 13, to help seniors flex their memory muscles!

Participants are invited to test and strengthen their memories with a number of fun and interactive games from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. during the program, which will be led by Wilf at Home executive director David Rosenberg at the Jewish Family Services at 52 Concordia Shopping Center in Monroe Township.

“Fun with Memory Games is an interactive program to help mature adults exercise their brains and also teach them games they can easily practice at home,” said Rosenberg.

Memory games will include “Make a Movie,” which helps people remember lists, name games to help recall names and word games that challenge one’s vocabulary.

“These games help participants to organize information to help remember important items like the grocery list and directions to the doctor,” he added.

“Research shows that memory games can increase concentration and strengthen the ability to recall information,” noted Rosenberg.

Another exciting and educational way to sharpen one’s memory is by learning about something new. The Wilf Campus will sponsor another opportunity on Tuesday, August 25, during a presentation about the great Jewish art master Marc (Zakharovich) Chagall.

Robert Hughes, an art critic, referred to Chagall as “the quintessential Jewish artist of the 20^th century. He was associated with various artistic styles and created works in different medium, including painting, book illustrations, stained glass, stage sets, and more.

Rutgers art professor Maurice Mahler will lead the special lecture and a film viewing about Chagall’s life and artistry from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Jewish Family Services.

These August events are sure to inspire mature adults to keep their memories strong and challenged, assures Rosenberg.
