The take-out spot offers up everything from customized cakes and cupcakes, Monika's homemade ice cream, ox tails, twenty-five flavors of chicken wings, Mac-n-cheese, vegan dishes, and more at great prices. Your palette will be pleased as well as your pockets. Monika Hilton, Chef and owner of "In The Kut Soul Food and Sweets" and "Eat Mo Cakes" graduated from South University in 2009 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She used her culinary talents as Restaurant Manager at McDonald’s, Sous Chef at the Sheraton Hotel, and Head Chef at Chi Psi Fraternity House at the University of South Carolina. This year Mrs. Hilton decided to partner up with business mogul Tye-V Turman of Tyeland South Inc. to open up “In the Kut Soul Food & Sweets”. Ms. Turman has an extensive background in branding and marketing in the music industry, which prepared her for other marketing and branding business opportunities outside of the music industry. With the culinary skills of Mrs. Hilton and the vast branding knowledge of Ms. Turman the two ladies felt that is was a smart and obvious partnership. Nycolia “Tye-V” Turman started her career in the early 90’s singing back ground vocals for L.A. Reid and Babyface for artist such as Toni Braxton & TLC. She went on to form her own girl group called Blackgirl that ultimately sold 2 million records worldwide. As a recording artist, she got her first taste of branding and marketing when her girl group, Blackgirl, landed a major deal with Chrysler to premier its 1995 Chrysler Cirrus automobile. By participating in the creative process for the Cirrus, as well as, starring in the ads she was able to help create innovative commercials that bolstered Chrysler’s sales in the urban community which helped them earn Motor Trends “Car of the Year” in 1995 and Car & Drive Magazine’s “10 Best” list in 1996-97 for the Cirrus model. Ms. Turman has involvement in a brand, “Stand Up for Humanity/Goodworks” Visit the Facebook Page at: https://www.facebook.com/ Official Hashtags: #InTheKut334 #EatMoCakes #TyelandSouth https://www.youtube.com/ End
