Rock'n Music Academy Kicks Off Summer Rock Camp Series

MIDDLETOWN, N.J. - July 21, 2015 - PRLog -- Rock'n Music Academy kicked off its tenth annual Summer Rock Camp series, as the summer's first group of young musicians spent a week learning the ropes of rock and roll.

Howard Lee Edwards, a professional musician and founder of the Middletown music school, has developed his summer rock camp program over the last 10 years.

“Students who attend our rock camp spend a week learning the various parts that go into being a member of a rock band,” Edwards said. “It's a great introduction for students, even if they're working at different levels.”

The program includes lessons in the history of rock and roll, and songwriting, but the students spend a good portion of the camp focusing on live performance and what it takes to put on a successful show.

“We work on stage presence, mastering song parts, rehearsing and then performing with a band,” Edwards said. The student rock bands perform the songs they've learned during the camp at a live concert Friday night, the last day of camp.

Two additional summer camp sessions are scheduled, with Friday night concerts scheduled for July 24 and August 7, at 7:30 pm at the music school, located at 500 Route 35 South, Union Square, Middletown, NJ. The concerts are free and the public is welcome to attend.

Rock'n Music Academy is continuing its year-long 10 year anniversary celebration. Edwards launched his music school with the goal of helping students of all ages develop a lifelong passion for music by providing superior quality music lessons. He's maintained the same methodology since the day he opened – offering his students one-on-one music instruction from professional level instructors and the opportunity to reach their highest potential as musicians.
