USSD Yorba Linda Inducted Into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame

YORBA LINDA, Calif. - July 21, 2015 - PRLog -- United Studios of Self Defense in Yorba Linda was inducted into the USA Martial Arts Hall Of Fame for 2015 for their excellence in martial arts instruction.

  “It is an incredible honor to be inducted and we are very humbled to be included with so many other great martial artists and martial arts schools”, said Trent Zappen, Owner and Chief Instructor of USSD Yorba Linda.  “Our students are what really make us such an awesome school.  I share this award with them.”

  The U.S.A Martial Arts Hall Of Fame has been recognizing excellence in the martial arts since its inception in 1976 and includes members from the United States as well as 13 other countries.

  “True teachers will teach their students to defend themselves but in the same class teach character, focus, discipline, respect, control, and so much more,” said Dr. Jim Thomas Ph.D., D.Sc., Ma.D.Sc. 10th Degree Black Belt Master and Director of the 2015 U.S.A. Martial Arts Hall of Fame. Trent Zappen and the other instructors at United Studios of Self Defense in Yorba Linda are just those kinds of instructors and run an excellent school.

  The U.S.A. Martial Arts Hall of Fame is dedicated to recognizing excellence in the martial arts whether it be an individual instructor or a school. To be inducted a school or instructor must first be nominated by their peers and then chosen by the Board of Directors.  The Board of Directors look for schools that exemplify what the martial arts are about.  Regardless of the style of martial art, the school must be one that teaches not just the physical aspects of the martial arts but the mental ones.  These would include the discipline and respect that is an integral part of the martial arts – not just knowing how to use it, but when and why.  Schools that are inducted into the U.S.A Martial Arts Hall Of Fame teach their students to have the Black Belt attitude in and out of the dojo.  This year’s induction ceremony was held in Los Angeles, California on May 23, 2015.
