Reggae musician Alex Marley to jam at the Mount Dora Seafood FestivalJoin Visit Mount Dora(tm) for the inaugural Mount Dora Seafood Festival, a two day event on Sat Aug15 and Sun Aug 16, 2015 in waterfront Evans Park.
By: Visit Mount Dora Born July 29,1987 in Kingston, Jamaica, Alex got his taste in music at a very early age and started writing songs at age eleven. Alex sings of a universal message of peace and love. He grew up listening to various genres of music: amongst artists like his cousins Bob Marley and sons as well as other greats such as Garnett Silk, Burning Spear, Jacob Miller, Peter Tosh, Jimmy Hendrix, Carlos Santana, Charley Parker, and Dennis Brown. In his music, he speaks of love, peace and liberation. He uses these principles to spread the Rastafari message to all the countries of the world. Not only do his lyrics of humility and love spring from his life but it also inspires others, which is very much apparent in his volunteer work with children. The Mount Dora Seafood Festival runs Sat Aug 15 11AM-9PM and Sun Aug 16 11AM-5PM in Evans park located at the end of Donnelly St on Lake Dora. It is FREE to get into the festival. There will be music all day along with food, beer, wine, crafters and a bounce house for kids. A raffle will be set up for Force Jamaica, an organization dedicated to bringing educational supplies to Jamaican children. The Alex Marley concert is on Sat night at 7PM. It is FREE but Reserved seating can be purchased alone or with a discounted seafood platter deal at www.MountDoraLive.com.
