CONCORD, N.H. - July 20, 2015 - PRLog -- When deciding on a gym, potential athletes are met with the dilemma: personal training, which is expensive but sure to be at an appropriate level and focused on one's own specific needs, or the popular large group training format, or bootcamp, which is less expensive but probably too generally focused. While the large group format is becoming more and more popular, injuries are also more common due to the typically cutthroat nature of the workouts and the lack of proper screening beforehand.

Before beginning training at Get Fit NH, clients are given a Functional Movement Screen. This is a standardized test that reveals problem areas that need to be remedied. The next step in the SGT approach is for clients to be given corrective exercises to remedy these areas of weakness. Color coded wrist bands identify the clients whose screen revealed a current problem area and coaches are able to monitor these clients in class and modify exercise appropriately.

The approach taken at Get Fit NH covers all the bases with a fun supportive group environment that at the same time offers a focused, personalized, safe program for each client. Smart Group Training and the foundation of the SGT approach, the Functional Movement Screen, have been part of the way Get Fit NH trains clients since 2012, and this year the owners and staff completed a rigorous process to make Get Fit NH one of only two gyms nationally to be certified as a Smart Group Training Facility.

Because of his commitment to the SGT approach, Coach Dean Carlson has been on the advisory board of Smart Group Training since 2014. Smart Group Training is the industry leader in bringing injury screening, prevention, and corrective exercise protocols previously only found in one-on-one personal training into gym and health clubs with large group training formats. Please see the website, www.getfitnh.com or call 344-2651 to make it happen for you.
