WORTHINGTON, Ohio - July 20, 2015 - PRLog -- Today, the Worthington Resource Pantry announced it will hold its annual fundraiser, Swingin’ Summer Night, presented by B&C Blacktop, from 7 to 10 p.m. July 24 at the York Golf Club, 7549 N. High St., Worthington. Chris Bradley, chief meteorologist at WBNS 10TV, will host the event, with live music from The Randys featuring Derek Dicenzo.

“This is a fun way to support the Worthington Resource Pantry and help our neighbors in need,” said Jennifer Fralic, executive director, Worthington Resource Pantry. “With the growing need for assistance, the pantry is also growing. For example, we saw a 21 percent increase in the number of families served. In addition, we distributed more than 330,000 pounds of food this past fiscal year.”

The event features heavy hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, live and silent auctions and the popular “Wall of Wine.” Live auction items include a ride to school in a fire truck and doughnuts with the chief of police. For the adults, items include a scotch whiskey tasting experience at Rivage’s Chef's Table and a private concert by Eric Gnezda, featuring singer/songwriters from the show, “Songs at the Center,” on WOSU. All funds raised help support neighbors in the Worthington community.

Tickets for Swingin’ Summer Night are $30 each. To order tickets, visit www.worthingtonresourcepantry.org/ annual-fundraiser/.

The pantry, having outgrown its former location, recently completed its move to a new larger facility at 6700 Huntley Road to allow it to expand its services. It serves families in Worthington and the surrounding area, including zip codes 43085, 43235, 43229, 43081, 43016, and 43065. Nearly 30 percent of the students enrolled in the Worthington City school district are economically disadvantaged (1), and the number is growing.
