People For Community Improvement (P.C.I.) Presents 6th Walk for Life Saturday, July 25

LOS ANGELES - July 19, 2015 - PRLog -- The 4K (2.4 miles) Walk, hosted by P.C.I. People for Community Improvement, will begin with a rally and stretching, lead by local fitness trainers, at the Ralphs parking lot across the street from the Audrey & Sydney Irmas Youth Activity Center, located at 11922 S. Vermont, Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90044.  Additional walkers will join in at Athens Park. The Walk will be followed by a Community Entertainment Festival & Health Fair at Earvin "Magic" Johnson Park, 905 E. El Segundo Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90059

The event will feature community resources, food vendors and entertainment by DJ Battlecat, Gospel Choirs and much more! The event serves as a fundraiser for PCI's Youth Leadership Program, Feed LA, Jobs & Education Center and PCI's Community Events. Sponsor and vendor opportunities still available! This year's theme is: “Prospering the Community Through Unity”, will highlight community resources that assist in building wealth and incorporate the goals of First Lady Michelle Obama "Let's Move" Campaign towards a healthier lifestyle. The event is also designed to promote unity and peace in the communities of Athens/Willowbrook and surrounding neighborhoods. The activities schedule will encourage community collaborations, reiterate the importance of education to local area youth and increase awareness of health issues plaguing our communities.

Invited guests include: Congresswoman Maxine Waters (43rd Congressional District), State Assembly member Mike Gipson (64th Assembly District), Mark Ridley Thomas (L.A. County Supervisor), Jim McDonnel (LA County Sheriff).
