San Luis Ambulance Named Small Business of the Year

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - July 16, 2015 - PRLog -- July 15^th, 2015 (San Luis Obispo)- San Luis Ambulance has been awarded Small Business of the Year in the 35th Assembly District by the California Small Business Association. The announcement was made in conjunction with California Small Business Day, an event which gives state legislators the opportunity to honor individual businesses from their districts.

In presenting the award, 35th District Assemblyman Katcho Achadijian said, “San Luis Ambulance is an integral part of providing safety services to our region. I am pleased to have this opportunity to honor them for their work and commitment to serving our community.”

Held annually, California Small Business Day is sponsored by the California Small Business Association. Honorees are invited to Sacramento to take part in daylong events and an award luncheon during which time they are honored by their legislative representative.

Frank Kelton, who along with his wife Betsey have owned San Luis Ambulance since 1974 said, “We are grateful to be able to give back to the community as we continue to be guided by our philosophy of doing what is best for our patients. We are honored to be recognized by Assemblyman Achadjian and the SBA for all they do to support small businesses.”

San Luis Ambulance is a privately owned Paramedic ambulance service first established in 1945. It currently has over 135 employees ranging from Paramedics, Registered Nurses, Emergency Medical Technicians a staff physician plus office billing and maintenance staff, mechanics and Human Resources. Ambulances respond to emergency, non-emergency, and Critical Care Transport as well as assist with ambulance standby for sporting events, concerts and auto races.
