July 16, 2015 - PRLog -- Breast cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-related death among women worldwide. At the root of the difficulty associated with medical management of breast cancers is the requirement to identify the biological characteristics of each patient's tumor. HER2 levels and estrogen and progesterone receptor status assays are commonly performed. In addition, proliferation markers such as Ki67 and well-known markers such as MUC1 are often assessed both in research labs and in the clinic, though the appropriate interpretation and application of this information will require further research. Finally, given the established connection between BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations and some familial breast and ovarian carcinomas, investigation of these proteins remains an area of intense study.

As an introduction to our extensive line of antibodies for research on breast cancer biology, GeneTex is pleased to announce its diverse selection of highly specific and sensitive reagents for the detection of BRCA1, BRCA2, HER2, ERα, ERβ, PR-A, PR-B, Ki67, and MUC1.
