Follow on Google News | Carl White’s Life In The Carolinas Selected A Winner In The 36th Annual Telly AwardsBy: NorCal Press In “The Collectors Episode Show hose Carl White takes viewers on a fascinating day trip in a 1946 Chevy, traveling from Wilkes County to Salisbury, with a stop in Pilot Mountain. He is joined by his friend Ken Welborn, publisher of The Record in North Wilkesboro and a passionate connoisseur of collectables. Their mission? To find and deliver a unique gift for Carl's friend, bluegrass musician and collector extraordinaire Tom Isenhour. In Salisbury Carl and Ken make a detour before visiting Tom. Collector, artist, and local historian, Clyde Overcash lives across the street from the site of the Salisbury Prison, a Confederate prisoner of war camp run during the Civil War. Clyde shares a number of fascinating stories about the prison's history before bringing out some of his many collectibles from the prison which he has found over the years on the grounds of his home site. The Telly Awards was founded in 1979 and is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world. A prestigious judging panel of over 500 accomplished industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly and a member of The Silver Telly Council, judged the competition, upholding the historical standard of excellence that Telly represents. The Silver Council evaluated entries to recognize distinction in creative work – entries do not compete against each other – rather entries are judged against a high standard of merit. “The Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in film and video,” said Linda Day, Executive Director of the Telly Awards.
