WEYMOUTH, Mass. - July 15, 2015 - PRLog -- The Weymouth Chamber of Commerce will host the town’s second annual PizzaPalooza on Wednesday, August 5th  from 5-8 pm at Weymouth High School Gold Cafeteria, 1 Wildcat Way, Weymouth, MA.

The competition and fun family event will feature local restaurants and pizzerias going head-to-head in a Pizza Showdown to determine which establishment will be named Weymouth’s Best Pizza. All ticket proceeds will benefit the Weymouth Food Pantry, which provides food for the hungry of Weymouth with the help of a generous community and volunteers.

All attendees will have a voice in determining Weymouth’s Best Pizza. One restaurant will be awarded the People’s Choice/Best Slice award based on the popular vote of attendees. The Kid’s Choice award will be decided by a separate children’s ballot. A “Judge’s Choice” will be determined by a panel of local “celebrity judges” who will all participate in the blind taste testing.

Tickets are $10 per person/$25 per family and can be purchased at the door on the day of the event.

CeCe’s, Ecco Trattoria, Papa Ginos, Dominos, Main Street Grille, Napoli’s, Old Country Pizza, Athen’s Pizza, the Venetian, Montilios and Sally Sweet Shoppe have committed to participate. Additional restaurants will be added before the event.

“Last year’s event was fantastic. Every one of all ages enjoyed the event and I am proud to say that the Weymouth community raised $8,800 for the Weymouth Food Pantry,” said David Robinson, Chairman of the Weymouth Chamber of Commerce. “We take great pride in Weymouth as a great place to live and work. This is an opportunity to taste the best pizza in town and raise money to assist people in our community in need.”
