Sterlite Copper inaugurated new livelihood programs for women

THOOTHUKKUDI, India - July 15, 2015 - PRLog -- Sterlite Copper, a unit of Vedanta Limited inaugurated new livelihood programs for women in Tiruchendhur, Sathankulam, Thiruperai and Polpettai, Thoothukudi in association with Tamil Nadu Corporation for Development of Women on 13.07.2015.

The training trades are Tailoring Training, Artificial Jewellery Making, Mushroom Cultivation and Computer Course. The main objective of the program is to help and motivate the rural women for generating income for their family. 80 women will be benefitted through this program. The training program period is one month.

Mr Sivarajan, Block Development Officer, Tiruchendhur inaugurated the training and handed over the training kit to the beneficiaries of Tailoring Training program. Mr Sankaranarayanan, Block Development Officer, Sathankulam inaugurated the training and handed over the training kit to the beneficiaries of Artificial Jewellery making training program.

Sterlite Copper Officials Dr R Kailasam, Chief Medical Officer & Head - CSR, Ms Suganthi Chelladurai, Associate Manager - CSR, NGO representatives was also present in this function.
