LONDON - July 15, 2015 - PRLog -- Heritage.
The coastal seaport of Hastings, a quaint mariner town and borough in the county of East Sussex, within the historic county of Sussex. Perhaps more famous for Hastings Castle and the nearby Battle of 1066, while William the Conqueror's first English bastion remains and is visible cliffside.

Historically significant, Hastings Borough Council selected the trending Tourism technology of GeoTourist to host an educational tour presented with Heritage Lottery funding to benefit local academic programmes as well as the large visiting tourist population.

This multimedia tour is written and narrated by local historian Geoff Hutchinson, Listen to the keen narrative describe the coastal cliffs that is also of scientific site interest due to the local area sandstone enveloping many fossils. http://geotourist.com/#/tours/175

Despite seaport origins,  and the fisheries declined, Hastings still claims the largest beach-based fishing fleet in England, based at The Stade -- recently noted for sustainable methods. Discover seaport heritage well guarded by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution at the landmark Lifeboat Station.  Also of chronicled note, that fishing vessels bear the prefix RX signifying registry at Rye, SusseX.

Explore the East Hill Lift, the steepest funicular railway in the U.K, as well as mariner discoveries at the Fisherman's Museum and Shipwreck Museum.  Be charmed by the seafaring Winkle Club and the Blue Reef Aquarium with its glassed in watery walkway.

Tours by GeoTourist can be exceptional educational tools.  Simple to produce, Tours depend simply on creativity and a passion for local knowledge. By including audio clips, local experts can offer insight into the past with new innovative reinterpretation.
GeoTourist  has just added the ability to record directly onto the website portal — eliminating any need to record separately. This means audio journeys can be produced at home with just a computer. This makes the ability to make audio journeys much more accessible for arm chair tours.
