Futrena Technology Inc. is a new online marketplace for innovative products and ideas

NORTH YORK, Ontario - July 13, 2015 - PRLog -- Futrena.com is the latest player in the fast-growing e-commerce landscape. As its name suggests - "Futrena" is a portmanteau of "Future Arena" - it is focused on the niche of very modern or futuristic products. Based in a 10th floor office along Yonge St. just north of Toronto, it currently consists of a team of six, plus various partners and remote employees in New York, Chicago, and Shanghai.

Very modern or futuristic products will naturally include a fair selection of electronics and gadgets, but also includes products that are innovative in terms of design or aesthetics, not just technology. Or better yet, all of the above. Picture a swanky young bachelor or bachelorette's apartment, ten or twenty years from now. Picture all the cool and stylish things inside it. That is what Futrena aims to sell, and people who want that lifestyle represent the market it is trying to reach. To obtain such products, Futrena is looking in places such as crowdfunding platforms for recently financed inventions, or foreign markets in places such as East Asia.

But Futrena team aims to create more than just a shopping site. They want to create a place where interested people can hang out and find out about the latest in innovation, not just buy things. Already Futrena has a blog up with a dozen articles on existing innovations or those hitting markets very soon, that most readers, even those who consider themselves innovation hobbyists and own an Apple Watch or anything with a curved screen, probably would not have heard of. And Futrena also aims to be a place where innovation is made, not just sold after the fact. The core founder and company president, Benjamin Ding, comes from a family of factory owners and has extensive networks into that industry in China. He wants to leverage this into helping inventors and designers get their ideas made and commercialized, and sold through the website. In fact, this is where the idea for the company initially came from. Manufacturing, distribution, marketing, sales, customer support - these obstacles can stymie even brilliant minds.

"Innovation often comes from the little guy, and the little guy needs help. There are giants you have to fight to get a firm hold on the market," says co-founder and COO Ted Lee. "And we can help the little guy fight them."

For a world where the future is coming faster than ever, and to an ever-growing base of young entrepreneurs, a company like Futrena holds a lot of promise.

www.futrena.com is currently in its beta stage and is accepting vendors and sellers who will sell their pioneering wares on the site. It will open to the general buying public within a month.
