Ariz. Mosque Hosts Inaugural Interfaith Ramadan Dinner

By: Islamic Center of North East Valley

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - July 8, 2015 - PRLog -- The Islamic Center of North East Valley (ICNEV) will hold its 1st annual Ramadan interfaith Iftar dinner on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the Scottsdale based Islamic center.

WHAT: ICNEV 1st annual Ramadan Iftar dinner
WHEN: Thursday, July 9th at 6:30pm
WHERE: ICNEV, 12125 E. Via Linda, Scottsdale, AZ 85259

Ramadan is the holy month of fasting where observant Muslims abstain from food and water from dawn to sunset.  Muslims will often share their breaking fast meals (iftar) with their friends and neighbors as a common Ramadan tradition.  Ramadan started on June 15th this year and will end July 16th.

In response to increasing local and national anti-Muslim bias, ICNEV’s inaugural Ramadan interfaith Iftar dinner will be the first of an annual tradition to share the spirit of Ramadan with our neighbors.  The dinner is open to all and interfaith friends are encouraged to also fast from dawn (3:45 am) to sunset (7:40 pm) if they are able to.

Reservations can be made at http://www.eventbrite.com/e/1st-annual-interfaith-iftar-dinner-tickets-17488427357.

ICNEV is an Islamic center serving the Muslim community of the North East Valley.  Its mission is to provide religious and social services to all Muslims, render help to any person of similar persuasion in adapting to the Islamic culture and to provide channels of understanding and communication between Muslims and the Arizona community in general.
