Follow on Google News | Antibodies for Colorectal Cancer ResearchColorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States.
By: GeneTex The matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) and the tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase (TIMP) families of proteins both play important roles in colorectal tumor metastasis, and thus are attractive targets for biomedical research. MMPs belong to a family of zinc-dependent endopeptidases that hydrolyze components of the extracellular matrix (ECM) and contribute to angiogenesis, inflammation, tissue destruction, and migration and invasion of cancer cells. Although TIMP family proteins serve to inhibit MMP proteolytic activity, TIMPs also exert oncogenic activity by enhancing the metastatic potential of cancer cells during late stages of tumor growth. Thus, there remains much to be understood about the roles of MMPs and TIMPs in colorectal carcinogenesis. GeneTex proudly offers a large selection of high-quality antibodies for colorectal cancer research. Our panel of highly specific and sensitive reagents includes antibodies against MMP1, -2, -7, -9, -12, -13, and TIMP1, -2, -3 and -4, all of which are validated for multiple applications. Please see below to view our large panel of colorectal cancer-related antibodies and consider whether these reagents can help accelerate your research. See: http://www.genetex.com/ End
