Problems about outsourcing venture

For several years now, outsourcing has proved to be an effective strategy to counter business challenges. This is particularly true of routine tasks and back-office jobs which, if delegated to a third-party vendor,leave you with the time and human resources to concentrate on your core business.

However, as you may have found to your cost, outsourcing throws up challenges of its own. From firsthand experience, chief among these challenges are:

A vendor who doesn’t value your time, and will only respond to your queries after several hours, either owing to a supposedly unmanageable time difference, or a lack of resources, or simple unprofessionalism.

Language barrier. Don’t laugh if you haven’t faced this. We are very serious. The number of times a project has fallen flat on its face thanks to a communication problem between a client and a vendor who either doesn’t speak or write English well (sometimes both), well, we wouldn’t like to count. Allied to this are cultural differences. Quite often, you will stumble upon a vendor who simply will not understand what you require.

Shaky infrastructure. A slow internet connection, for example, is merely an annoyance for most of us. For a business, it could mean the difference between sink and swim. For every vendor with faultless infrastructural support, there will be ten others who will bring you to your knees with their dodgy basics.

Therefore, when you take the final call on a vendor, why not look out for these hurdles, and only entrust your precious projects to those who will care for it like their own?
