Douglas Jimerson is renowned for his performances and vocal interpretation of music of 19th century America. From the Kennedy Center to Carnegie Hall, Jimerson has received rave reviews. Douglas Jimerson and the Civil War Comrades have many recordings of Civil War music, including many recordings of Abraham Lincoln's favorite music. Jimerson will provide historical background about the songs during the performance. Don't miss this special occasion to commemorate the 151st anniversary of the Battle of Monocacy. At this battle, U.S. General Lew Wallace's forces met and fought the Confederate forces under General Jubal Early, delaying their advance on Washington, DC and possibly saving the U.S. capital from capture by the Confederate Army. Admission is free, and there is ample free parking. Monocacy National Battlefield is accessed easily from Exit 31A on I-270, south of Frederick, MD.
