New Investment Banker joining Merit Harbor Group in Seattle

 
TACOMA, Wash. - July 7, 2015 - PRLog -- Merit Harbor Group, a boutique M&A, Investment Banking, and Advisory Firm dedicated to helping CEO’s and Entrepreneurs create, grow, optimize and capture enterprise value, today announced that Jake Matthaei will be joining the investment banking team as Director in the Northwest Office. He will be based out of Tacoma/Seattle.

Jake has over 10 years of experience working with privately held businesses and worked in the financial industry for the last 7 years helping owners with strategic planning and accessing capital. He has a depth of experience in a multitude of industries, specifically focusing on manufacturing, construction, Telecommunications, and consumer products, to name a few. With a background in commercial banking, Jake brings to Merit Harbor Group, a dynamic skillset of business analysis and middle market development.

Jake has worked with business owners with $5MM-$100MM+ in revenue for the past 10+ years on growth strategies.  He has worked on the strategic side of operations as well as financial, particularly related to accessing capital, cash management, forecasting and stress testing, and profitability/margin analysis.  In addition, Jake was a commercial banker for 5 years proving out financial analysis techniques and learning the ins and outs of the credit world.  He has helped companies access hundreds of millions of dollars to facilitate their operations and general growth.  In combination with identifying strategic acquisition targets for clients and worked to facilitate the transaction.

Jake is a Northwest native with a BA in Finance and Economics from Washington State University and Masters in Business Administration from the University of Washington. He has been involved with different industry groups such as the Risk Management Association (RMA), Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society (BGS), and the Center for Advanced Manufacturing in the Puget Sound (CAMPS).

Jake and his wife reside in Tacoma, WA.  They welcomed their first child into the world several months ago, which now occupies most of their free time.  While not entertaining his new son, Jake spends much of his time trying not to create too much damage around the house with his never ending list of DIY projects on their 100 year old home.  Weather permitting, fishing and other water sports are a go-to recreation for his family.  Jake is committed to his family, friends and community.  Never sacrificing his values is paramount in every aspect of life, be it at home or in business.
