Follow on Google News | The innovative cookery school that’s breaking the corporate hospitality mouldBy: The Cooking Academy It’s a tough job to truly stand out and do something unique or unusual that will also be memorable and – crucially – help to build those all-important relationships which result in decent business being done. Now The Cooking Academy, founded in 2007 by chef Kumud Ghandi and based in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, is trying to turn that on its head with its innovative corporate hospitality programme. Kumud explains: “We wanted to help our corporate clients to break the mould when it comes to entertaining their own clients. Our corporate cookery courses and team-building events were already so successful and the idea to add some corporate hospitality options to our events portfolio seemed like a natural progression for us. “You’d definitely be hard-pressed to find an activity that’s more satisfying, fun and barrier-breaking than creating a gorgeous meal from scratch and then sitting together to enjoy the experience of sharing it. It’s so much more intimate and informal than many run-of-the-mill corporate hospitality events!” The feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive. One participant from Serco Events said: “We had a really fun evening - cooking and enjoying a glass of wine or two at the same time – what a great way to cook!” Another, from Nokia, said: “Thank you for putting together a great event. It was a fabulous evening’s entertainment; The Cooking Academy has been built upon the culinary traditions of Kumud’s family in India. On the maternal side, her family are chemists; the paternal side, spice merchants. A developing interest in the fusion of science and the use of herbs and spices for medicinal and nutritional health benefits led Kumud to create a unique approach to cookery, which she labels her ‘Alchemy of Food’. Born out of her desire to share her food philosophies with as many people as possible and to help them reap maximum health benefits from cooking, The Cooking Academy has developed a diverse range of events and cookery courses to give both private and corporate audiences an outstanding and unforgettable experience. Kumud continues: “We recognise that business is done in the most unconventional places and our team has created a dynamic environment in which every participant can learn some new skills while building new relationships with clients and colleagues. Cooking can be a fantastic way for people to encourage a little friendly competition, have some fun develop mutual trust and respect, so it really is the ideal option for a company looking for something a little different for their corporate hospitality.” Find out more about The Cooking Academy corporate events and hospitality packages at http://www.thecookingacademy.co.uk End
