Dayo Olomu called on Black people to participate more in the political and public life of UK

July 3, 2015 - PRLog -- Dayo Olomu has called on Black people to participate more in the political and public life of United Kingdom.

Dayo Olomu said this yesterday when he paid a courtesy visit to Honorable Keith Vaz MP, chairman of the Home Office select committee at his office in the House of Commons. The visit was to specially thank him as one of his sponsors for the 100KM London 2 Brighton Challenge and present the medal he won.

It will be recalled that to mark his 50^th birthday Dayo Olomu took part in the London2Brighton Challenge (one of the UK’s great endurance events) recently where he jogged and walked the 100KM route to raise funds for Focus on Disability Foundation UK to purchase wheelchairs and disability aids for disabled people in Nigeria.  “It was indeed a huge test of endurance for both my mind and body as I walked day and night through the dark woods, paths and dimly lit lanes to reach my final goal in Brighton. I finished the 100KM challenge in 30 hours with a smile on my face, aches and pains all over my body.” Dayo Olomu said.

He thanked Keith Vaz MP, one of his sponsors and also those who sponsored him for their heart of generosity.

Dayo Olomu who was recently re-elected as a school governor and vice chairman of CIPD South London also used the occasion to call on Black people to participate more in the political and public life of United Kingdom.

Dayo Olomu was accompanied by Dr. Joe Ukemenam, CEO of Corporation House and one his young mentee’s Adejare Adelano.
