Finding inspiration in growing up in a small town

LOS ANGELES - July 1, 2015 - PRLog -- Real estate mogul C. Frederick Wehba hails from Crowell, Texas – a prairie town in the heart of what was once Comanche territory. Today, Crowell is known as the Wild Hog Capital of the World, and Wehba is the chairman of BentleyForbes, a commercial real estate investment and management firm based in Los Angeles that has more than $3.5 billion in acquired properties.

Wehba’s father was a Lebanese immigrant who loved his adopted country, and Wehba started learning his business skills as a 12-year-old while working in his father’s Crowell, Texas, grocery store. By the time Wehba was 16, he was managing the store while finishing high school and his studies at North Texas State College (now North Texas University). “At the time, I didn’t understand how lucky I was to be able to learn those business lessons and how important it is to be supported by one’s community,” Wehba said. “I’m proud to say I’m from Crowell, Texas, and I’m proud of the opportunities it afforded me.”

Wehba gives back to communities that embrace the ideas of a small-town community, one where they support their children and help them with lessons that will help them to become successful adults.

“Sometimes it’s easy to think that if you come from a small town, you won’t be able to leave or to be successful in your career field, but you have to remember, big lessons can be learned from little towns,” Wehba said.
