There can be nothing better to complement this vibe with the musical sensations to the first rays of the morning sun! On July 5th, 6.00 am to 7.30 am Ahmedabad will be presented with the performances of Shadaj Iyer, a child prodigy from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. One of the most gifted and youngest vocalists of Agra Atrauli Gharana, Shadaj studied under the guidance of Ustad Shaukat Khan and went on to not just flourish as a trained vocalist, but also studied tabla under Shri Pravin Shinde, who will be accompanying him on Tabla for the performance. Also featuring will be Shri Ikram Khan on Sarangi, and the trio will play their renditions of long as well as short Khayals with some very intricate taan patterns and their beautiful melodies. Following their performance will be the Taal Vadya Kacheri, a percussion ensemble. The unique feature of the music is its confluence of instrumental percussion - from Hindustani to Carnatic music and even folk music. The ensemble will have Shri Hemant Bhatt on Pakhawaj, Shri Dinesh Kumar Shaik on Mridangam, Shri Sapan Anjaria on Tabla and Shri Dilawar Khan on Khartal, Shri Amit Thakkar on Violin. Their performance will shift from dynamic solo performances, incredible jugalbandis to konnokal set to the Aditaal rhythmic cycle.
