National Bestselling Author Latrivia Nelson Expected to Take Fiancé’s Surname
By: Latrivia Nelson
“Nelson was my married name,” Latrivia Nelson said in a television interview earlier this month. “Now that I’m marrying again, I feel like a step in the right direction is to change my last name on my books as well. I’m going to spend the rest of my life with this new, wonderful man, and I don’t want to be reminded of old things or old lives in the process.”
Nelson wrote 24 books under her name, ten of which were national best sellers including The Medlov Crime Family Series, which was the first interracial romantic suspense novel about organized crime in the genre, spurring a phenomenon in bw/wm romance with crime lords as anti-heroes.
“My PR team has one focus over the next 90 days,” said Nelson. “They are going to get the word out to all of my 50,000 fans across the world that Latrivia Welch is Latrivia Nelson. We’ll be sending out e-blasts, videos, social media messaging and launching a new website that will be linked to the old site. It’s going to be a lot to accomplish, but we’re up for the task.”
The previous books will retain the Nelson brand, but upcoming books released after her nuptials set for late July of this year will carry the Welch brand.
Nelson is expected to release two final books this year under her current name (Seeking Santa and The Grunt 2). This fall, she is expecting to release two books under the Lonely Heart Series, Highness (Book 2) and Red and Blu. She is also expected to release Gabriel’s Regret (the second book in the Medlov Men Series).
