Top LA Collectors and Classic Car Enthusiasts Come out For Petrolicious Rally

By: Petrolicious

LOS ANGELES - June 30, 2015 - PRLog -- The rows of eclectic and cherished classic cars lining the Malibu Country Mart parking lot early Saturday morning were a reflection of the legendary classic car scene in Los Angeles where renowned collectors like Bruce Meyer, standing next to his 300 SL cabriolet, and Magnus Walker, in a seriously fast looking 1971 911 racecar, mingled happily with young classic owners and veterans alike.

The multi-million dollar parking lot with 88 rally participants included a pair of Morgan trikes and Ferrari Lussos, an army of stunning Porsches, and a rare Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster.  Not to mention three Facel Vegas, an unheard of number outside of France, and a brace of speedy looking Alfas, Zagato bodied Lancias and Fiats, Minis, Corvettes, E-Types, and even the lovable yellow VW Bus from the film Little Miss Sunshine.

Leave it to the event’s organizer, Petrolicious.com CEO and renowned Alfaholic, Afshin Behnia to attract such a wonderful assortment of rare classics.  His company’s award-winning short films chronicle the passions of classic car owners and have made Petrolicious one of the top automotive related channels on YouTube.

Their website, Petrolicious.com, attracts classic car lovers from all over the world, drawn to the irreverent editorial sensibility best described by the Petrolicious motto “drive tastefully.”  “There is nothing better than spending time with so many people who share my passion for classics.  And to have over 80 amazing cars driving the mountains of Malibu while looking out over the blue Pacific is a fantastic experience,” said Behnia, who brought his track ready 1974 Alfa GTV for the famous Malibu canyon roads.

After 80 miles of mountain driving, the colorful convoy headed to their final destination, the Santa Monica Museum of Flying, where participants dined, mingled and admired each other’s cars.  Also on display were a 1967 Ferrari 330 GTS and 1964 Cooper Monaco racecar that will be included in the Auctions America sale at the museum on July 17th.

The title sponsor of the event was Auctions America, with additional sponsorship provided by classic car rental company, Classics & Exotics and classic car finance company, Classic Car Capital.
