By: Outlook Care Foxburrow Grange, Outlook Care's state-of-the- National Care Home Open Day is about connecting people. The aim of this day is to enrich the lives of the UK’s care home residents by reminding people that care homes in every community are filled with unique, intelligent and charming characters, and run by special people that really do care. We are delighted to confirm that Dementia Adventure, a multi-award winning social enterprise which connects people living with dementia with nature and a sense of adventure, will becoming along to Foxburrow Grange at 14:30 to talk to residents and visitors about the benefits of nature based, positive risk taking for people living with dementia. Dementia Adventure will take you on an uplifting multimedia journey through some real life examples of people living well with dementia in a variety of settings, and find out how residents and family members can access services that promote physical activity and well being. You will also find out a little more about the ways in which Dementia Adventure has helped charities and care homes to connect their clients and residents to the emotional delights of the great outdoors. In addition, we will be holding a tea party from around 15:45 for residents and visitors with tours of Foxburrow Grange available during the afternoon. Foxburrow Grange Home Manager, Jakki Robinson, commented, “National Care Home Open Day is a great way to connect people within our community and to celebrate all that is good about care homes. We are delighted to open our doors to our local community and to have our special guests Dementia Adventure coming along.” End
