Follow on Google News | Tiera Allen's The UnSeen Comes to Bokeh GalleryBy: The monoOrchid The UnSeen marks Allen return to the monOrchid with her first solo exhibition of her photography utilizing an experimental photography process, known as Lumen Prints, to strip away the extrenious qualities and get down to the root or core source of chemistry, known as Photography. Allen says, "By removing the heaviest part of the photograph (the subject), the viewer experiences the beauty and delicate process of making an image and through this act, the unseen arrives.” Allen was traditionally trained in Photography and she holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Photography from Arizona State University. She has exhibited her artwork extensively in Arizona in juried group exhibitions at several local galleries and businesses including Capture12, Practical Art, as well as the 2014 Thermal PHX arts competiton at themonOrchid and most recently in the 2015 Southwest Invitational & Traveling Exhibition. Her artwork has been featured in several publications including the Downtown Devil, Localrevibe and Phoenix New Times. The Opening Reception for The UnSeen will be held on First Friday, July 3rd from 6-10pm with the artist in attendance. The Closing Reception will be held on Third Friday, July 17th from 7-10pm featuring an intimate evening with the artist, amazing artwork, wine and more.
