Local Fans Celebrate 50 Years of Grateful Dead

While the iconic band performs its final ever “Fare Thee Well” concerts in Chicago this upcoming holiday weekend…Deadheads will gather to celebrate in spirit.

CHERRY HILL, N.J. - June 29, 2015 - PRLog -- Generations of fans will come together on SATURDAY, JULY 4TH from 12-4PM at WOOSTOCK TRADING COMPANY in Cherry Hillto honor one of the most influential bands in history. The event features LIVE MUSIC by The Jugband, covering Grateful Dead tunes, inspiring the sense of community and camaraderie that have fueled the band’s success for nearly five decades.

Gladys “Mom” Glass, owner of Woodstock Trading Company, has been a matron of community-oriented music and local artist events in the region since 1988. Glass, a self-made connoisseur of rock ‘n roll collectible memorabilia, says music is a medium that is universally understood.

“There are some bands that can connect with one or two cultures through their music, bringing those communities together. It is rare for a band to make that connection spanning so many at once worldwide. The Grateful Dead is one of those rarities. Artists, like The Jugband, that aspire to creatively pay homage to their music and then some, are what keep that unique spirit alive and growing. We are proud to honor that spirit here at Woodstock with our continued efforts to offer and maintain a strong sense of community, which The Grateful Dead have gratefully inspired throughout generations of fans.”

The Jugband will host a GIVEAWAY at Woodstock’s July 4th event. One lucky fan will win a weekend camping pass to The Farrest Grove Music Festival on August 7th-9th in Hammonton, NJ. This first-time festival will showcase the area’s most psychedelic bands and offer participants workshops on topics like yoga, health and hooping. The festival coincides with the anniversary of the death of The Grateful Dead’s former leader, Jerry Garcia on August 9, 1995 and will celebrate his work and influence on various artists.
