Rook Coffee to expand to larger production facility

New Jersey-based coffee company announces plans to move headquarters to Long Branch

LONG BRANCH, N.J. - June 26, 2015 - PRLog -- Long Branch, N.J. (June 23, 2015) – Five years since the company’s inception, Rook Coffee has continued to grow and expand throughout Monmouth County. With seven stores in operation, one more on the way and even more to come this year, the business is excited to announce that it is in the process of acquiring a new coffee roastery and production facility in Long Branch, N.J.

The new roastery and production facility is located at 10 North Third Avenue, one block off of Broadway. The 10,500-square-foot property sits across the street from the Long Branch Fire Department and from Brookdale Community College's satellite campus. The property is located just behind the McDonald's across Broadway from the Greater Long Branch Chamber of Commerce.

Co-Founders/Owners of Rook Coffee, Holly Migliaccio and Shawn Kingsley are hoping to close on the building within the next month and they look forward to having a second Rook Coffee presence in the city of Long Branch. Migliaccio and Kingsley are thankful for the overwhelming support that the Long Branch community gives the company.

Migliaccio and Kingsley were both born and raised in West Long Branch and their respective parents and grandparents lived in the city of Long Branch. The business partners both have family history rooted in Long Branch, with ties that continue today.

The new production facility occupies the entire street block at the corner of North Third Avenue and Union Avenue. The building is currently owned and occupied by the Kimble Family, who operate Kimbo Educational Music & Movement for Children, which was founded in 1958.

Encouraged by the redevelopment that started with the building of Pier Village and the associated residential complexes, Rook Coffee hopes to be a part of the revitalization of downtown Long Branch. Rook’s new production facility is located in Long Branch’s “area in need of redevelopment”.

Rook Coffee will join the upcoming opening of a sustainable beer garden, known as “The Whitechapel Projects,” at the corner of Broadway and Second Avenue and a 13,000-square-foot CVS Pharmacy that just opened in the lot facing South Broadway and Ocean Boulevard. Additionally, the city recently purchased land for parking next to the beer garden and across from Pier Village and the CVS.

Rook Coffee’s new production space will house a 70-kilo roaster which will have the ability to produce five times the amount of coffee that the current roastery in Ocean Township does. The facility will provide a headquarters for roasting, cold brewing and eventually office space. Although there are not immediate plans to open a coffee bar in the building open to the public, it is possible for the future.

The new coffee roastery and production facility will join Rook’s coffee bar locations: two in Oakhurst, one each in Long Branch, Little Silver, Wall Township, Red Bank, Manalapan and one coming soon in Colts Neck.
