"My Alzheimer's Diary: My Journey through the Shadow of Alzheimer's Diagnosis," by award winning novelist Raynetta Manees, debuted on three Amazon.com Top 00 Best Seller lists and has remained a top seller since its June 21, 2015 release.

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - June 26, 2015 - PRLog -- "Mom, I think you may have Alzheimer's." These words were life changing for award winning novelist Raynetta Manees. Alzheimer's disease had already ravaged three generations of her family--her grandmother, mother, and brother. Now it was her turn to face the harrowing prospect of dementia for her own future. She shares her apprehensive journey of Alzheimer's disease diagnosis in this, her first non-fiction book, "My Alzheimer's Diary: My Journey through the Shadow of Alzheimer's Diagnosis."

Manees focuses on the process of Alzheimer's disease diagnosis. This critical phase of the deadliest form of dementia is often inadequately addressed amid data on dementia warning signs and caregiver guidelines. Manees tackles this somber subject respectfully, but also with the light and often humorous touch that is her trademark. The book is a memoir, but additionally gives informational and technical insight, including the projected "Alzheimer's Disease Tsunami."

Manees states "My Alzheimer's Diary" was written "because I just plain got angry.  I saw what Alzheimer's disease had done to my mother and other family, and this was my way of fighting back."

Manees has penned six published print novels. Her thriving career as a novelist was brought to a sudden halt in 2002 by severe illness, including a stroke. However by 2012 Manees had recovered sufficiently to resume her writing career. Manees has updated five of her print books, and they have been re-released in digital editions. Manees’ 2012 releases were "Follow Your Heart," an award winning Christian romance novel; "All The Way Home;" and "Wishing on a Star."  2013 saw the re-release of her award winning "All for Love," inspired by the life of Michael Jackson.  "Fantasy "was re-released in 2014.

Prior to this non-fiction entry, Manees’ niche was exclusively romance novels about people in the entertainment field, which reflects the author’s personal background and experience.  Manees holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications from Wayne State University in Detroit.  She has been an actress, singer, reporter, and an on-air radio personality on AM 1180 in Lansing, MI.  Manees was also for two years on the Board of Directors of the Riverwalk Theater in Lansing Michigan.

In her books the characters have been singers, actors, directors, songwriters, stand-up comedians, pianists, and public speakers.  In in one of her books, Heart of the Matter, the public speaker is an elected official, the woman mayor of a major city.

Manees is currently involved with several new projects. Her next book release will be the long anticipated sequel to All for Love, now considered by many a romance novel classic.  The book's release in 2016 will celebrate the 20th anniversary. 1996 release of the original paperback edition.

Manees also plans to continue in the non-fiction arena with a book on the racial strife currently gripping the country, as well as a biography on the life of Michael Jackson.
