The New Book The Real World Of Mission San Luis Rey Is Finalist In 2015 San Diego Book Awards

 
June 25, 2015 - PRLog -- The San Diego Book Awards have announced the 2015 Finalists and Winners in fiction and non-fiction categories.  The San Luis Rey Historic Foundation is pleased to state that their book about the San Luis Rey Mission, The Real World of Mission San Luis Rey, was a finalist in the Best Published Local Interest category.  Author Jim Downs spent five years working on the project.  The winner in the same category was Ocean Beach, published by the Ocean Beach Historical Society and the other finalist was San Diego Italian Food, by Maria Desiderata Montana.

Their top award, The Geisel Award, for the Best Published Book went to J.Dylan Yates for her book The Belief in Angels.

Proceeds from sales of The Real World of Mission San Luis Rey the book will go to support the work of The Foundation; the maintenance and preservation of the old Mission and education of the public about Mission San Luis Rey.  The book is available at Barnes & Noble, on Amazon.com, at the Mission’s gift shop and through www.popcornpressandmedia.com/books.
