The Target Audience to Improve Oil Industry Operations

MIDLAND, Texas - June 22, 2015 - PRLog -- In any industry, speculation begins when a new service comes out.  Once its buzz begins to pick up speed, there will be numerous companies tweaking and slightly altering the innovative service.  By no means do these companies take credit for developing this game changing service. However, they see the benefits of the service and remodel it in a way they see advantageous for their company.  Recently, this business practice has growing in an exponential way. With resources of the Internet, people are developing more apps and websites to service a business or individual.  Examples include hot start-ups like Uber, Lyft, Airbnb, and Homeaway.

The oil industry lacks this innovative process.  Many companies are built to mimic the same old model. Provide a service that supplies the need of an Exploration and Production Company, an operator.  Whether they sell light towers or drilling motors, they are all the same.  These companies are not trying to benefit the industry, they’re trying to capture market share.  On the other side, we see small Internet platforms pop up here and there claiming to allow people to post their equipment, jobs, and companies for free.  However, within a month or so they diminish.  They are mimicking a model that is being saturated.

The industry needs a platform available for all the professionals to communicate and collaborate.  Over 4,000 companies and innumerable personnel operate the Permian Basin oilfield.  Currently, the play has 231 rigs drilling and thousands of wells producing.  Each asset requires service and maintenance.  There are many moving parts in the oil industry. Transportation is a key catalyst to the operations, without it the industry would crumble.

Failure in logistics causes downtime and increased operational cost for operators; which in turn decreases their revenue.  Time and time again operators experience difficulties with transportation.  Not only is this a headache for the operator, its impact is seen on the service companies.  These companies lack correspondence with one another.  Supply chains going to and from rigs or wells need to be coordinated to benefit everyone.

Petronaut is a web-based platform to help industry professionals coordinate operations with one another.  The website has collected over 3,500 companies in the Permian Basin and displayed their products, services, and locations.  The data is accessible to anyone in the industry.  We believe that if we can get everyone on Petronaut, we can improve operations.  We can schedule dispatching activities and streamline processes to the rig or well site. Most importantly, we can connect personnel working on one operation.  Petronaut not only plans to improve industry processes but to renovate them.  Right now, the industry lacks this service.  The industry has companies providing data regarding wells, rigs, and production output.  However, none of these help the oilfield worker complete tasks.  Petronaut aims to benefit the field-level worker to change the industry.
