STEM Academy Partners with Bedford County to Support STEM Education
During the STEM Camp, students will be learning to fly small, medium and large quadcopters, how to film using the quadcopters and how to solve real world problems using quad copters. Students will be working together in teams to solve instant challenges and develop a plan to solve an engineering challenge using quadcopters.
Students will be visiting TRAX International on Friday, June 26th from 10am- 11:30 am to learn more about virtual reality and digital simulation. The press is invited to attend this field trip at TRAX International at 5601 Fort Avenue, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
Central VA Community College is also hosting camps in machining and culinary arts during the week. The students in the culinary arts camp will be preparing lunch for the campers Monday – Thursday during the camp.
The press is also invited to come and visit the campers and instructors on Wednesday, June 24th and Thursday, June 25th from 9:30 am – 11:30 am on the campus of Central VA Community College in the AREVA Technology Building on the 2nd floor at the STEM Academy, and the 1st floor in the Machining Lab and the Culinary Arts building to learn more about this regional partnership and see what students are learning about.
